Housing Corporation (Delegation) etc. Act

Key Benefits
The Act gives the Housing Corporation a power of delegation from its Board to below board level, either to a committee of the board or to officials with retrospective effect. It also deems the Corporation always to have had such a power.

The board had been acting on the basis that it had an implied power of delegation since its inception over 40 years ago, until it was recently discovered that the Housing Corporation board did not have this express power of delegation.

The legislation therefore restores the status quo bringing in all parties back to the position they thought they were in before this problem was discovered.
