JUDICIAL PENSIONS

KEY MESSAGES/BENEFITS

• To maintain current level of judges' pension package in light of the new pensions tax arrangements in the 2004 Finance Act, recognising the critical importance of the judiciary in delivering an effective justice system
• There will be no additional cost to the public purse overall
• To put in place an enabling power to allow the Government the
  flexibility to more easily make changes to judicial pension legislation in future

• The Bill will apply to the UK
