Clarifying the role of Community Support Officers, and ensuring they have the powers they need

Improving the inspection process with a single Inspectorate for Justice, Community Safety and Custody

Reducing opportunities for smuggling and terrorism by allowing the police to stop and search people and vehicles in airports

Increasing the effectiveness of Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (in Wales Community Safety Partnerships).

Allowing communities to request action in areas where they think the police or local authorities have failed to adequately ensure community safety
