COUNTER-TERRORISM BILL [DRAFT]



KEY MEASURES

  • Would contain measures designed to ensure that the police, Security Service and courts have all the tools they require to tackle terrorism and bring perpetrators to justice.
  • "We are considering the scope for new offences including that of "being concerned in the commission, instigation or preparation of terrorist acts" and other measures with a view to helping the police and the prosecuting authorities bring more cases to court." During the passage of the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005, the Government undertook to bring forward further counter terrorism legislation for pre-legislative scrutiny in the late autumn, followed by introduction in the Spring of 2006.
