COUNTER-TERRORISM BILL [DRAFT]

KEY BENEFITS

  • Important that fullest possible range of powers is available to
    tackle terrorism
  • In Discussion Paper ("Counter Terrorism Powers: Reconciling Security
    and Liberty in an Open Society") published in February 2004 Government undertook to look widely at our response to terrorism and the way forward
  • Results of that consultation exercise still under consideration and
    the Government aims to set out its response early next year.
